Review Summary:

This recipe offers Chicken and egg protein that provides the essential amino acids a dog needs. There are a couple of vegetables too, which is helpful for providing other nutrients. On the down side, it, it contains Tapioca starch, which holds little to no nutrition value beyond the carbs it contains. An alternative ingredient with higher value would be better. Overall, this recipe is just above average.

Cons

  • Contains added Tapioca starch

    First 5 Ingredients:

    1. Chicken Broth
    2. Dried Egg
    3. Chicken
    4. Peas
    5. Carrots

Chicken broth is a tastier alternative to water

Dried eggs are a good source of protein and Omega-3 fatty acid.

Chicken  is a good  source of protein with all the essential amino acids for dogs, but keep in mind on this ingredient rank list, it factors in the water content, which is roughly about 70% or more water.

Peas are a good source of fiber, protein, and other nutrients too, but note that it does contribute carbohydrates from its starch.

Carrots are a good source of vitamins and antioxidants. It’s well known for its high content in vitamin A and beta -carotene.

Other Ingredients to be Aware of

Rice is a source of fiber. It does contain a high amount of carbohydrates.

Potato starch contains high amounts of calories and carbohydrate.

Tapioca or Tapioca starch (also known as tapioca flour) is high in carbohydrates and calories. It is good for energy, but of course too much carbs will go towards storage as fat.
