Review Summary:

This recipe offers egg and multiple straight named meats at the top of the ingredient list that provide the essential amino acids a dog needs. There are a couple vegetables too, which is helpful for providing other nutrients. On the down side, it contains Caramel color, which is for unnecessary aesthetics and the issue it its link to premature aging. Also, it contains Tapioca starch, which holds little to no nutrition value beyond the carbs it contains. An alternative ingredient with higher value would be better. Overall, this recipe is just above average.

  • Multiple good meat sources in top five ingredients
  • Cons

  • Contains caramel coloring, which aids premature aging
  • Contains added Tapioca starch

    Ingredients Analysis

    First 5 Ingredients:

    1. Chicken Broth
    2. Dried Egg
    3. Turkey
    4. Duck
    5. Chicken

Chicken broth is a tasty alternative to just water.

Dried eggs are a good source of protein and Omega-3 fatty acid.

Turkey , Duck, and Chicken  are  a good  source of protein with all the essential amino acids for dogs, but keep in mind on this ingredient rank list, it factors in the water content, which is roughly about 70% or more water.

Other Ingredients to be Aware of

Potato starch contains high amounts of calories and carbohydrate.

Caramel color is not necessary as its only purpose is for aesthetics. The downside is it contains advanced gycation end products, which can result in premature aging.

Tapioca or Tapioca starch (also known as tapioca flour) is high in carbohydrates and calories. It is good for energy, but of course too much carbs will go towards storage as fat. Beyond this, it does not offer much nutrients, fiber, or protein. This ingredient is a poor choice for average dog’s diet.
