Review Summary:

First, if it matters to you, this recipe is not manufactured in the USA, it is made in Thailand. Next is the moisture content is relatively higher than most other wet food recipes, indicating you are getting more water per unit of volume. Getting into the details of this recipe, it offers chicken and Quail Egg, which provide good protein. However, we do see the protein levels are relatively lower in the guaranteed analysis, partially due to the water factor. Also, we can see the estimated carbs are relatively higher. One reason for the relatively higher carb level is due to Tapioca starch, which is nearly a pure carb ingredient. A better substitute is to use an alternate ingredient with higher nutritional value than just carbs. Overall, this recipe is just below average.

  • Relatively higher in moisture content equates to higher water content per unit volume
  • May contain too much non-dietary fiber carbohydrates
  • Not manufactured in the USA
  • Contains added Tapioca starch

    Editor’s Taste Rating

Lots of bisque liquid in this can. Settled to the bottom are gobs of meat chunks, pieces of pumpkin and carrot, with a couple of half slices of Quail Egg..  Despite the appealing looks, there isn’t much taste. The shredded meat pieces are nice and soft and only a hint of meat flavor comes through. Overall, it is very bland.

    1. Chicken Broth
    2. Chicken
    3. Carrot
    4. Quail Egg
    5. Pumpkin

    Chicken Broth adds favor

Chicken is a source of protein with all the essential amino acids for dogs, but keep in mind on this ingredient rank list, it factors in the water content, which is roughly about 70% or more water.

Carrots are a good source of vitamins and antioxidants. It’s well known for its high content in vitamin A and beta -carotene.

Quail Egg is a good source of protein and Omega-3 fatty acid.

Pumpkin is a squash that offers a good variety of nutrients and most notably it is an excellent source for vitamin A and beta-carotene. Also, worth mentioning, it provides dietary fiber.

    1. I realize this has been discontinued, but my dogs did like it. It has a lot of broth in it but it goes far with the kibble as I only want to add a little extra not as a mine course. As far as from Thailand I have fed my dogs Weruva which is made there too but since it nearly tripled in price I stopped buying it. Thailand has very strict ethic in production, the food is human quality and made in a plant that is only for pet foods. Where as China will make dog food in one area and pesticides in the area next to pet food production. I never trust China for anything I will not buy any thing from there…A lot of dog foods don’t list where the product is made and therefore I don’t purchase..
